This is store is probably my favourite store. They have a good selection, the staff is helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed and sexy. Most Mr. B. stores have somewhat the same articles and the same design. The staff in Amsterdam makes the big difference. It is difficult to point out exactly what they do in Amsterdam compared to for instance Berlin, maybe a more relaxed attention to the customer. The balance between getting personal space without being left alone is just right for me.
Another nice feature, if you can call it a feature, is that their workshop is also located in Amsterdam. So, when they didn’t have the leather pants I wanted in my size, it took just a couple of hours to get a pair from the workshop. Just enough time to relax and grab some pancakes with cookie filling, from one of the Creperies in the street.
The products they sell are mostly of their own brand, but they also have some fetish articles from other brands. There is something for every taste, also rubber, neoprene and sportswear. I myself love the leather items with stitching on the sides, like the belts and ties. It is a nice detail. When I think about it I have a pair of boots from this store as well. They are the only pair of high boots I have tried that fit strait of the shelf. It should be said that this is not a cheap store, but the prices are reasonable when compared to other stores with the same quality and service.
If you are going to Amsterdam, this store is definitely worth a visit. Remember that if you want tax return (if you are from outside the EU, like Norway), you need to bring your passport.
Well, it has been there for some time now. It is a store focusing on underwear and swimwear for men. Even if such stores are found in every big city it is quite unusual in Norway, it seems like Norwegians think male underwear shouldn’t be sexy.
The store is located in Tollbugata, just a couple of blocks from our main street “Karl Johan”.
This is the only store in Oslo (as far as I know) there you can find:
- Andrew Christian
This store is not directly fetish oriented, but you might find some cool stuff anyway. I hope that every guy in Oslo use this store, as I like that the concept has come to town. I’m going to find myself some bathing shorts later today.
Check out their web shop at 2be.fashion
Even though Oslo is a small city compared to other capitals in Europe there are several places to buy fetish gear. After “Fifty shades of grey” also normal sex shops got some fetish wear, but often of low quality. The “Kondomeriet” in the high street (Karl Johans gt.) is more for fun than a serious sex shop.
This is probably the biggest sex shop in Oslo, and it has a part with leather, rubber and other fetish gear as a Mr.B shop in shop. They also have a large video department, with quite a good selection.
They have recently moved (OK, about half a year ago), to a street just above the Rockefeller Music Hall, and a couple of streets from Youngstorget. Keep in mind that you might not be able to try the stuff before you buy, especially rubber.
A hairdresser with something extra, a little gay sex shop. He has products from Mr. B, Barcode and other well known brands. He has good prices (also on haircuts). The store is quite small, it is definitely worth a visit. His store is located at the bottom of Grrünerløkka, but it might be hard to find so find yourself a map.
A franchise of the German company with the same name. They have some leather and rubber, and a good selection in lubes. Unfortunately the fetish gear are not of the best quality, but it is cheap. The store is placed near to the natural science museum, between two tram stops. Really easy to spot because of the big faces on the wall (As you see in the picture).
This is a small store, with quite a good selection of toys for men. It seems a bit sketchy, but it is better on the inside. You can find it between Grünerløkka and Carl Berner.
Rome is a beautiful city, with lots to see. Lots of hot (and not so hot) Italian men, but it is hard to find leather guys. Probably because the city is full of tourists. The gay area is really small, and might be said to be one street.
I visited the Alcova shop, it is probably the only fetish shop in Rome – at least the only one I found. It was about 50/50 for men and women, and had what you would expect of a fetish shop when it comes to clothing. I did not find that many toys, but did not ask. The price was a bit higher than other shops – As it often is if it is the only shop in town – so you probably have to search a bit for bargains.
The Coming Out bar/restaurant in Rome, right behind the Colosseum, is really worth a visit. They have good and cheap food. And the clientele was between 18 and 45, in every style – except no visible leather or other fetish guys.
Hangar is the oldest gay club in Rome, from the middle of the eighties. Outside it is the most anonymous club I have ever visited. You can see the entrance in the picture to the left. There is no other bars, restaurants or clubs in immediate vicinity, so the street is quiet. Inside the club it is surprisingly big, much because of the high ceiling. It was a quiet night, so the dance floor wasn’t in use, and most of the guys was just hanging around the bar.
They have a darkroom, it is completely dark so you can not see anything. Not my cup of tea. There is also a smoking area in the back. I liked the atmosphere of the club, and will return.
As I was just visiting for a couple of days I didn’t visit any of the cruising bars or saunas, maybe next time. And then hopefully at the same time as some fetish party.
I’m going back, so if there are something or somewhere you think I’ve missed or should visit feel free to let me know in the comment section below.
